Eat This Book

We eat for pleasure, to enjoy the company of friends, to try new experiences, but ultimately, we eat to nourish our bodies. We need the vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and other essentials so our body will keep working the way God designed it. Like the best food strengthens our body and enriches life, so God’s Word is food we need for strength. Throughout scripture the bible is described as food: “sweeter than honey,” Ezekiel was told to “eat this scroll,” the Psalmist declared, “how sweet are your words to my taste.” For the month of January, we are going to discover why this book, The Bible, is so important to our spiritual nourishment. In fact, this entire year, we are going to month by month learn to “eat this book!”
